I was born and brought up in India. I accomplished Masters in Applied Psychology, Political Science and Hindi Literature in India and practiced as a counsellor in educational institute and psychiatric centre. I emigrated Canada about ten years ago after getting married to a Canadian citizen. I studied further and did another Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I also attained certificate courses in Trauma-focussed Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Trauma-focussed Art and Expressive Art Therapy. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor affiliated with British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (registration number 14239). I am also registered with the Crime Victims Assistance Programme (CVAP) and ICBC. Being proficient in four languages (English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu), I am proud to serve a diverse clientele from different cultures which also include new immigrants and refugees in lower mainland of Vancouver. Being an immigrant myself, I can relate to feelings, emotions and experiences of newcomers to Canada.
My aim is to provide clients emotional security and comfort, promote insight, generate self-awareness and facilitate confidence to fight adversity in their lives. I believe that:
“We are all born with a divine fire in us. Our efforts should be to give wings to this fire and fill the world with the glow of its goodness”
